St. John Bosco Athletic Association Board Meeting

May 5, 2008


 


 

The meeting opened at 6:40 p.m. with the Lord’s Prayer. The following were in attendance: Steve Zikeli, Dave Stepanski, Ginny Heffner, Tony Landino, Joe Dubovec, Bev Gombarcik, Leah Armstrong.


 


 

I. Previous minutes reviewed and accepted – Tony/Joe

II. Treasurers report reviewed and accepted – Bev/Ginny

III. Spring Season

a. Joe has paid the invoice to CYO for $800.

b. Banquet date is Tuesday, May 27th at 6:30. Kim Ballash will purchase

everything needed, but is unable to be there the night of. Board

members will be there at 6:00 to set-up.

c. Coaches will return equipment at banquet. Kids keep uniforms.

d. Playoff brackets already set-up with dates.

There is a conflict with 8th grade, but will be resolved when the time comes.

IV. Fall Season

a. Responses were turned in for interest in football program.

A meeting is being arranged with Holy Family Athletic Director to discuss possibility of merging the two teams.

b. Discussed SJB being a CYO site for volleyball and if we will have the ability to get volunteers for concessions.

Bev said deadline to decide is June. Discussed having a limited concession stand.


V. Miscellaneous

a. Teachers will receive $50 each from profits of Browns sale.

b. Two students were chosen for Athletic Scholarships at $500 each.

c. Appreciation Picnic will be Wednesday, June 4th at 6:30. RSVP’s are coming in and due at the end of the month.

Board members will come early to set-up.

d. Discussed volunteering for International Festival. Athletics will contribute to Chinese Auction.

e. We received the hoodies and plaques for the athletes participating in CYO for the last 4 years and they will be distributed at the banquet.

f. Discussed appropriate coaching behavior at games.

g. This will be our final Athletic Board Meeting.


 

 

Meeting closed at 7:15 p.m. with a Hail Mary.
