Evangelization Meeting – May 15, 2006

In attendance: Dave Fuente, Janet Fuente, Jack McLauglin, Colleen Salvatore Amoroso, Dolores DeLeone, Jeannette Brennan, Carolyn Morris, Terry Morris, Marge Mihoci, Gayle Miragliotta, Fran Zulli, Barb Sekerak and Kim Nestelle

Dave Fuente opened the meeting with a prayer.

Dave Fuente expressed his thanks to everyone for their participation on Easter Sunday; giving a white cloth and a picture to parishioners as a remembrance of the day.  To Fran Zulli, artist extraordinaire, a huge thank you!

Doughnut Sunday is June 4^th.  We will be co-hosting along with the Holy Name Society.  Dave passed around a sign up sheet for the Sunday Masses.  The volunteers for the 7:30 AM Mass need to help set up at 7:15 and the 11:30 AM volunteers need to help clean up.  Doughnut Sunday is a great opportunity to introduce ourselves and explain the function of the committee and what goals we have for the future.  Items to place on the tables:

-         Fishermen of Men bowl

-         Posters

-         Flyers inviting folks to join us

The Evangelization committee has been tapped by Father Dave to head the advertising committee for the International Festival in August.  We would like to set up a meeting with Father to talk about the direction he wants the group to take.  Some ideas to discuss when we meet are:

-         Greeters

-         Media coverage

-         Canvass local businesses for donations

-         Place posters in businesses advertising the festiva 

Barb Sekerak received a call from the Senior Citizen group headed by Bob and Rosemary Soroky.  They will have a booth at the International Festival and would like donations of $25.00 to make theme baskets to raffle off.  We agreed with Barb’s suggestion to combine with Stewardship to donate the baskets to their booth.

A reminder to continue greeting parishioners before all the Masses. 

Dave will contact everyone with the time and place of the next meeting.
