Evangelization Meeting – October 9, 2006
Present: Dave Fuente, Janet Fuente, Jack McLauglin, Colleen Amoroso, Jeannette Brennan, Carolyn Morris, Terry Morris, Marge Mihoci, Jerry Bowers, Barb Sekerak, Fran Zulli, Kay Thomson, Gayle Miragliotta, Dolores DiLeone and Kim Nestelle
Dave Fuente led the group in the opening prayer.
The meeting focused on the handouts for Christmas. Following is a summary of the suggestions, pending approval by Father.
- Starting with the first Sunday in Advent, December 3rd, place cards in the back of the church with a verse that will emphasize it is the season of forgiveness and apology. The suggested wording is, “ Season’s come and season’s go, without you in my life the Christmas season is not as bright. I am sorry we have drifted apart; can we sit down and talk.” We would ask the priests to explain the reason for the cards during the Advent season. The cards could be put out again for New Year’s.
- Sunday, December 10th – Chaplet of the Divine Mercy with a picture on one side along with words suggested by Jeannette Brennan on the backside.
- Sunday, December 17th, a card with a drawing of the altar. On the altar is a placard that says, “Reserved”. Within the drawing is written, “No reservations required”.
- Christmas – caricature of Charlie Brown and friends pointing to a star with the words, “Behold the star – our Savior is born”.
Dave asked that each member ask a family member or a friend to join the Evangelization committee. New members equal new ideas and energy.
The next meeting will be held on Monday, October 16th, at Jack McLaughlin’s home at 7:00 PM.
