The meeting opened with the Prayer of Jabez.
Dave expressed his thanks and tipped his hat to all for helping to make the new parishioner luncheon a success. Marge, Dolores and Fran gave nametags to everyone and Colleen and Jack added to the food table. The new parishioners that attended were very happy and stayed until the start-up for Bingo. Going forward we would like to handle the food, with Colleen in charge, because she does a terrific job. Again, kudos to all!
Jeannette gave a report from the all the ministries that attended the new parishioners’ luncheon of any new members that signed up with them.
Dave received an e-mail from Barb Sekerak about Decades for 2008. Anyone that wants information and would like to participate, please see Dave.
A reminder that we support the Right to Life group and join them in saying the rosary at Incarnate Word the first Monday of every month and attending Mass on the first Thursday of the month as a group.
Dave reminded everyone that as part of Evangelization we are to wear our nametags and greet folks, smile and be friendly as they enter the church for Mass.
A discussion followed regarding what we will give to the parishioners for Christmas. It was decided, pending Father Dave’s approval, Fran, our resident artist, will draw a picture on a card of the Little Drummer Boy. We will run a ribbon through the card so it can be used as an ornament and hung on a Christmas tree. Our homework is to bring ideas to the next meeting of what we want to say, in two sentences, on the back of the card. For Advent, we will place the “Forgiving Tree” in the back of the church.
The next meeting will be Monday, October 22nd at 7:00 PM.
