No meeting was held in March.
Bishop’s Letter
We have not received the official closing letter yet from the bishop.
Building Rental
Several education organizations have inquired about leasing our building. On site visit have been made but no firm proposals have been received as yet. One organization has leased space in other parish schools and the pastors are happy with the arrangements.
Tuition Assistance
Some families may need tuition assistance at the new school. We will consider individual
cases as we do now. We may need to develop additional sources of funds other than the monthly envelope in our packet.
Parish Budget
A financial report for the period of July through March was reviewed. Most items were in line with 75% factor. Several were off because of roof payments made this fiscal year
that were not in last year’s plan. Since Lent was early this the collections indicated a
higher return or he three quarters. Bingo proceeds continue to lag behind last year’s pro-
ceeds.
A Budget Committee was established to develop a parish budget for fiscal year 2008 -
2009 with the goals of providing financial responsibility, balancing the budget and re- paying of our outstanding debts. Mark Palko, Dan Sage and Tom Halloran plus a fourth member to be named later will comprise the committee.
Grounds Maintenance
The initial proposals were returned for modification of services and reduction in costs.
The revised contract saved was $6,400 less. The fertilization proposal was approved for two years to limit any increases to 4% for next year.
The Athletic Association will continue its contract for the Athletic Field.
Next Finance Council meeting: Tuesday, May 13th at 7:00 p.m. in the Bell Tower.
