Finance Council Minutes of July 18, 2006
Members Present: Tom Halloran, Len Robare, Joe Dubovec, Fr. Dave, Al Barbanera, Marty K. Zanotti, Marty P. Zanotti, Fr. John, Bob Pearl, Renee Estremera and Doug Hill Cash FlowA comparison of the projected cash flow and the actual income and expenses for June revealed that the collections and Bingo produce a slightly higher income while the projected expenses remained the same. The outstanding accounts payable amounted to $31,659 including the $8,715 diocesan assessments. The collection revenue is down about $15,500 again this year. Last year the deficit was $60,000. The reduction for this year would have been larger except for a number of people who made significant increases to their offerings during our Stewardship Renewal. For the next fiscal year, the reports will be modified to separate the church/parish figures from the school and daycare center. A budget committee was establish to develop the 06-07 budget,
Remodeling Fund Campaign Pledged: $62,475Paid: $52,810 Needed $62,525 Pledges Rec. 105
School RenovationTo date about $58,000 in expenses has been accrued for labor and equipment. The largest expenses were the air condition units required for the daycare. Sherwin Williams is providing paint and volunteer painters to paint the daycare. This should occur on August 4th. The ceiling grids have been cleaned and are ready for the tile installation. The lower level floors are also ready for the carpet tiles. A garage sale is planned on the weekend of July 22-23 for the excess school and classroom equipment.
Festival PlanningTo date, $9,569 has been received for the car raffle. The breakeven point is $18,000. Car and prizes are $15,000 and printing/delivery costs are $3,000. Two cars will be available for display shortly and may be placed on the lawn on Pearl Road. Booth captains are scheduling volunteers now to staff the various booths. Several new booths (Solitary and 50/50 Sideboard) are being planned and staffed using the people from the booths cancelled (ice cream and retail) from last year’s festival. There has been only a limited response to the appeal for new dealers for the casino. Training sessions for last year’s dealers will be announced shortly.
Daycare Cleaning ContractsSeveral options are being considered for cleaning the daycare. The daycare teachers will be responsible for cleaning their own classrooms just as the day school teachers do now. The cleaning crew would be responsible for vacuuming, trash pick-up, and bathroom cleaning.
Sacristy RoofAn inspection of that roof shows that water is accumulating at one end and not reaching the drains. Temporary measures will be used to eliminate the water and a professional roofer (parishioner) will be asked to evaluate the problem.
Next Finance Council meeting: Tuesday, September 12th, at 7:00 p.m. in the Bell Tower unless a meeting is needed sooner.
