Building Rental
A proposed lease for the school by The Positive
Education Program was reviewed extensively. PEP would lease 17% of the school
and would occasionally use the Bell Tower for staff and parent meetings. The
use of the gym would have to be coordinated with the Day Care. The term of the
lease will be limited to one year under current diocesan policy. PEP plans to
spend about $300,000 to remodel and air condition the school. Details of the
plan will continue to be negotiated during the coming weeks. The Bishop must
approve the final lease.
Grounds Maintenance
Contracts were awarded to Lawnco and Husney
Companies for landscaping services. The scope of the contracts were reduced in
order to save some funds.
Parish Budget
Guidelines for the 08 – 09 budget include a 3 –
3.5% increase in all expenses except utilities. The natural gas increase will
be 15%, electrical 10% , water and sewer by 6.5%. The estimated property tax
increase will be 2%.
The various budget assumptions must be
coordinated with the other parishes in our cluster. This will be accomplished
through the Finance Subcommittee.
