PTU GENERAL BOARD MEETING
TUESDAY, OCTOBER 16, 2007
Our first general meeting was opened with a prayer by Renee Warren, 1st Vice President.
Renee then reminded everyone of the upcoming PTU fund raiser - a wing ding at the Blue Moose in Parma, on Friday, November 9th .
Our general meeting proceeded with a presentation by Mr. Jeff Stutzman. Mr. Stutzman works with the Diocese of Cleveland. He is a youth minister with St. Thomas More Church, and is a graduate of St. Ignatius High School and John Carroll University.
Mr. Stutzman presented the parents and board members with a very informative program on internet safety, concentrating on how to keep our kids safe while on the internet. He informed us that “privacy does not exist on-line”, and that “every computer has an IP address number that identifies it to the outside world.”
Mr. Stutzman also answered questions from the group on topics of “social networking” websites such as MySpace and Facebook, and warned of the dangers of kids posting too much information on their pages.
Mr. Stutzman had some helpful handouts available and ended the presentation with a Question/Answer session.
The name drawn for our tuition-reimbursement was Emily Phaler. Unfortunately, her family was not in attendance, so her name will go back into the “barrel” for the next general meeting.
The winner of our 2-Week-Free Hot Lunch package was Mary Anne Palko.
The winner of our Avon Gift Basket was Mary Anne Palko.
The winner of our 50/50 split raffle was April Harrigal.
The meeting ended with refreshments.
