Meeting Minutes on the SJB website
The committee agreed that the Stewardship Meeting Minutes are to be posted on the SJB website.

 Monitoring Time-Talent Commitment Process

Update on 2005 records/calls that were to be made as of last meeting in February. The call list was reviewed and noted that everyone had been contacted.

Ed Flegel had informed us prior to the meeting that Thank You notes had been sent to the individuals who submitted a commitment card.

We need to find a way to monitor the people who signed up for a
ministry.  This may take another call from us to the ministry leader and to
the individual.  Our goal is make sure the individual has been contacted and
with the hopes that they have become involved in that ministry.

2006 Stewardship Plan
As was agreed upon last year between the Stewardship Committee and Finance Council, the Time & Talent portion of stewardship will be the responsibility of the Stewardship Committee and the Treasure portion of stewardship will be the responsibility of the Finance Council.

Ideas for 2006 and going forward.

It was suggested that when a parishioner contacts the church office to sign up for a ministry they should complete a commitment card this will ensure that we follow up with them and the ministry leader.

Donut Sunday -    Barbara will check with Kathy Jasnay, as well as with the ministry
leaders that when they are hosting the Sunday the ministry should display their
ministry’s board.  This could take the place of a Ministry Fair and give the parishioners a chance to sign up for a ministry.

Booklet Update:

As of this meeting of the 2500 booklets printed there are approximately 100 still available.
It was confirmed that a booklet is in the New Parishioner packet.

The Evangelization Ministry ensures that the booklets are available in the back of the church by the Visitor Book.  They also take a booklet with them when they visit the new parishioners.

The committee agreed the booklet is a benefit and value to the parish community.  We do know that one ministry said that the booklet was an excellent resource when they need to contact the various ministries for help on one of their projects.

How/when will we obtain updates for the booklet? -   By our next meeting we should have the updated information from the various ministries. Ron Zupancic is obtaining additional information on the booklet from Diocesan Publications.  He will also mention to them that we are looking at
ordering 3000 booklets.   He will keep the committee posted on his meetings with Diocesan Publications. Items that need to be updated in the booklet are:  The area map, the Ministry contact person(s), and new ministries. We will review the list with Fr. Dave.

Our task will be easier this year since we have the information on disc as does the printer.

Dates for Stewardship Renewal/New Sign Ups - We would like to have the renewal around the same time as we  did  last year which would be some time in September.

How to Market Stewardship at SJB – suggestions are:  Welcoming/sending congratulations to new parishioners, newly baptized, etc.

It was suggested that the Stewardship Committee send a welcome letter to new parishioners with encouragement to sign up for at least one ministry.   The committee also felt that a congratulations letter should be sent to the newly baptized.    Kevin Zapior will create the letter and the committee will give its approval.   The letter will be signed from the Stewardship Committee and mailed from the church office.

International Festival – we received a request from Senior Citizens Group to donate a basket or ?? for Chinese Raffle.

The committee agreed that we would donate toward a basket for the Chinese Raffle.
We will partner with the Evangelization Ministry since both ministries are small in number.
Stewardship Committee’s involvement in the festival: -     John Budi will be working the security
Mary Ann Zapior will volunteer to work the ticket booth. Dave will give her name to Jerry Bowers.
Kevin Zapior will be a casino worker.  Dave and Janet Fuente have been given the job of marketing the festival.  They will enlist the help of the Evangelization Ministry members.
They will also help out where needed the days of the festival.    Jim and Barb Sekerak will help out where needed. as will Ron  Zupancic.  We will check with Sue and Ed Flegel.

Suggestion for new members for Stewardship Committee -  Barbara will check with Fr. Dave on our suggestion.
Prior to the meeting’s adjournment, Barbara had the members do an experiment – “How Smart is Your Right Foot?”  If you want to know about this experiment call or email Barbara!
The meeting adjourned at 9:15 pm.
